Bissonnet serves the southwestern areas in Houston. It passes through the Houston Museum District, City of West University Place, City of Bellaire, and the Gulfton, Sharpstown, and Alief sections of Houston. It is one of Houston's most misspelled streets. Of recent note along the street is the proposed Ashby Highrise, a 21-story apartment building slated for 1717 Bissonnet.
